Explanation of ANPC Order no. 201 of 2022

ANPC Order no. 201/2022 requires collective dining units to provide information on marketed food products, both for on-site consumption and home delivery. It defines the consumer information methods and requirements, referencing Regulation (EU) no. 1169/2011.
In explanation: all units serving non-packaged preparations must have the nutritional declaration calculated. Here you can find the published order.
Units targeted by the order:
Restaurants (classic, specialized, canteens-restaurant, self-service, etc.), brasseries, pizzerias, breweries, bars, cafes, fast-food including drive-in, buffet-style units, rotisseries, confectionery, pastry shops, tea rooms, terraces / summer gardens, event organization units.
Main requirements of the order are:
1. Displaying the list of ingredients exceeding 20 g for each menu item, including information on additives and allergens.
2. Declaring nutritional values for each menu item, including energy value and amounts of fats, saturated fatty acids, sugars, and salt.
3. Specifying used food additives, according to EU Regulation 1169/2011.
4. Presenting the list of allergens for each preparation, including potential allergens from the storage/processing environment.
5. Marking ingredients derived from frozen products.
How requirements must be met:
1. Information must be written in a visible, easily accessible, readable, indelible place, and must not be hidden by other written or photographic materials, near the product, on a board/menu.
2. For restaurants offering online ordering, information must also be available online on the website where the customer orders the preparations.
3. For units delivering products, the requirements must also exist on the price tag or transport packaging.
4. For drive-in units, digital display systems via panels/screens, as well as the QR code, can also be used.
5. Information must be provided upon request for customers ordering by phone and asking for this information.
